Remember Fletch? Here He Is....

Fletch is the one on the right, can you see he has not got the orange legs yet?  His beak is brownish, not orange like his parents' beaks.
He is a black oystercatcher, the other species is the pied oystercatcher,do you  know how they are different to Fletch?
His parents fed him oysters and worms.  They were fantastic parents, they protected him at all times When he was small, they chased Princess my cat away, also Gary had to stop mowing the lawn,as they got most annoyed with him.

Information Report - and Request - Our Garden

Click on the picture to enlarge.

We really, really want to plant a garden and we need some help.

The garden is by Room 2 and it is already weeded.  You guys don't have to do the weeding because Mrs Turner has already done it.

Three mussel buoys have already got primulas and strawberries.

Please, we need to plant vegetables.  Coby likes beetroot,  Rishant would like passionfruit.  Billy would love to have strawberries so he can drink strawberry juice.  Alyssa said, "Italian parsley is for Mr Phillips."
We could plant watermelons too!! (In Term 4)
There is even a peach tree that we don't know where to plant.

You don't have to bring your gardening tools because we already have them in our gardening shed.

Parents, and grandparents can you help us?
We would really love you to help us.

From everyone in Room Three

Room one helped start a worm farm for the gardens in Autumn this year.

These cabbages were grown down by Room6
Gary says..." Be sure to plant your cabbages far enough apart,so that they don't bump heads!!!!"

One of the Easiest Ways to Shift a Heavy Load

    ''Stop! Go! '' shouted Alexander.
It was mighty hard work because we had to make sure we didn't let the rollers come out.
You had to pass the roller to the person in front when it came out the back of the mussel buoy.
We took the  buoy to Room Three from the Room One and Two alarm bell box.

It  took about an hour, cause it was even longer than lunch time.
We successfully made it to Room Three, our hands felt hot like lava.

Artist Fraser Williamson

Room3  is looking at a New Zealand Artist, Fraser Williamson. He illustrates in many New Zealand's school journals and stories within the journals. We decided to paint using his style of illustration.

We like his paintings because they are very unique and different. His paintings are done in a cartoon style with a South pacific feel.

Fraser and his wife, who is an author, visited a class to show his style of painting.

Going to the Hall
August 14th

When we went to the hall today, the teenagers had fun talking to us. They sang a song, we had to sway our hands.
They taught us a clapping game. Most people liked it.
We had a dance contest, Coby Billy and Atutahi were in it. Coby was a bit embarrassed!!!
Everyone in the contest won a green wrist-band.
But the main thing they taught us…DON’T BULLY!!!!

By Room 3 and Ian Franklin specially helped with this co-operative writing

Atutahi, Coby and Billy were in the dance contest.

Our girls really enjoyed joining in the singing.
